Inspiring and Motivation Living with disability isn’t easy but there are many who fight against all the odds to achieve success in life.
Today we are going to talk about an inspiring disabled person H Ramakrishnan, who proved that nothing is impossible if one believes in himself, works hard and keeps a positive attitude in life.
Born in Kerala on Christmas Day in 1941, H Ramakrishnan was affected with polio at the age of two and both his legs were paralyzed.
Due to his disability, Ramakrishnan was denied admission to the local school and had to go to a different town to attend a regular school.
After clearing the UPSC exam, Ramakrishnan applied for the posts of news reader / translator / reporter but he was not given the job due to his disability.
He did not take rejection seriously and with true dedication, Ramakrishnan worked in different posts in Doordarshan, All India Radio, Press Information Bureau and Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity and today he has more than 40 years of experience in news reading and journalism.
He has interviewed many leading politicians and celebrities and also acted in different films.
As a musician, he has done many live concerts and also has been recognized by the Tamil Nadu government for his contribution to South Indian music.
He runs a charitable trust Krupa to help disabled people to buy hearing aids, walking sticks, tricycles and calipers.
Ramakrishnan’s inspirational journey gives a message that successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities but they vary in their desires to reach their potential.
